Haven fans' favourite Chris Taylor has signed a new one-year deal at the club.

The strong-running centre has been at the Recreation Ground since 2014 apart from a brief spell at Halifax in early 2015.

He was a mainstay in the 2018 team under Carl Forster until a knee injury ruled him out of the back end of the season. But he still made 23 appearances this year, scoring eight tries.

Speaking of signing back on for a fifth season at the club Taylor said: "I’m really pleased to have signed another year at Whitehaven.

"I really enjoy being part of the club, the board of directors and fans have always supported me and my family which we are very grateful for.

"I’m really excited to see what next year holds for us as a club."

Whitehaven Rugby League's board of directors would like to thank the Whitehaven Rugby League Vice Presidents and David Pennington from Gosforth Taxis who, without their support, this signing would not have been possible.
