Sun Inn sailed into the next round of the Workington Sunday League Cup, after a convincing win over hosts Highfield.

Braces for Joe Stewart, Richard Hudson and Andrew Trestianu all contributed to the 9-1 win for Sun Inn, with further goals from Wayne Iredale, Mike Tomlinson and Logan Dixon.

Highfield did get past their visitors' defence to secure a consolation goal for Harry Braithwaite.

The tightest game in the competition took place at Northside where the hosts had to rely on extra time to see off visitors Seaton Royal Oak.

The game was deadlocked at 2-2 after 90 minutes but Northside came through in extra time to snatch a winning goal for a 3-2 scoreline.

Lee Woolfe, Kyle Graham and Byron Todd were the Northside scorers, with Ben Power getting both of Royal Oak's replies.

Pack Horse eased through thanks to a 6-0 victory over Sun Inn Athletic, with Gareth Brunton leading the way with two goals.

Connor Hammell, Connor McCrickard, Dan Davis and Ryan Robinson also found the back of the net.

Maryport Labour Club could not find a way through the stern defence of Deer Orchard in their tie.

Deer Orchard were on target through Dan Graham, Mike Graham, Callum West and Conor Cooke to seal their passage into the next round 4-0.

Gareth Winter was on target with a brace for Maryport United as they won 5-1 at the home of Soul Suite, with Shane Wilson, Brandon Birks and Ellis Graham also finding the back of the net.

James Wilson was the sole scorer for Soul Suite.

Red House also picked up a win on the road, putting four goals away with no reply from Dearham.

Jordan Ferguson, Grant Quayle, Jack Wilson and Adam Chambers were all on the scoresheet.

Salterbeck ensured their progression in the competition with a 3-1 win over Waverley, with Chris Williams getting their lone goal.

The winning Salterbeck goals came from Nathan Brash, Martyn Rossi and Paul Monkhouse.
