Whitehaven can expect to face a super confident Doncaster side when they square-up at the Recreation Ground on Sunday.

The Dons scored their fifth win in a row when they beat London Skolars 38-6 at the Keepmoat Stadium on Sunday.

That string of victories has carried them into the last League One play-off place after it looked as though their season had been fading away.

One man that Whitehaven will have to keep a close watch on is centre Jack Logan, who scored two of the tries in Dons’ latest win.

A former England Academy star, Logan has been playing on dual-registration from Hull FC who regard him as amongst the most talented up-and-coming English players in Super League.

After making his senior debut for the Black and Whites in 2014, the Hull-born centre worked his way into the senior side, making several appearances during 2015.

A potent try-scorer, his playing style has been likened to that of club legend Kirk Yeaman. In 32 Super League games, the 22-year-old has scored nine tries.

Ahead of the 2016 season, head coach Lee Radford handed Logan the iconic number four shirt, following in the footsteps of legendary Hull FC three quarters such as Yeaman and James Leuluai.

He played the first six games of the season, and showed a lot of promise scoring twice, before a very serious knee injury ended his campaign.

He made his comeback from injury for the reserves in 2017 and featured for Doncaster on dual-registration briefly last year and again this season.

Totally committed to the Doncaster cause, Logan believes the Dons are capable of beating any team in Betfred League One after their latest success.

He said: “It was a good team performance, the fifth win in a row and it can become a habit when everyone is working for each other.

“We’re making those extra metres and doing little bits which have improved our game and that is key for us when picking up results.”

Logan has made an impressive start to his loan spell from Super League side Hull FC, and added: “I haven’t played that many games for the club this season but I can see a massive difference from earlier this year.

"We’re here to win and our goal is promotion, that is what the boys are talking about and what we want to achieve.

“As long as the team do well, then that’s all that matters.

"As a centre, it’s my job to assist the winger and chip in with a few tries as well.”
