Whitehaven Cricket Club have snapped up a Scottish international to be their new professional next season.
Safyaan Sharif will join The Playground club for the start of the new-look Cumbria Cricket League in 2019.
A statement said: “The club are delighted to announce the signing of Scottish International Safyaan Sharif as our professional for the 2019 season.
“Saffy, a seam bowling all-rounder has played 36 one day internationals and 29 T20 internationals for Scotland. He played the last four games of the season as our sub pro, scoring 116 runs and 15 wickets at an average of 11.
“Saffy proved popular with players and members alike and we are pleased to have secured our first choice as pro and look forward to the 2019 season.”
