Young rugby fans have the chance to see their idea of the perfect away kit worn by Workington Town’s stars next season.

The club has launched a competition for youngsters to design the 2019 away strip and has asked schools around Allerdale to help.

All they have to do is come up with their kit using a template provided by supplier O’Neills and submit their entry.

The winning design will be used in full or as the basis for the away kit, with prizes for second and third.

A club spokesman said: “After the unbelievable interest in the 2019 home jersey we wanted to give our young fans the chance to design our 2019 away jersey.

“We’ve sent it to 35 schools in Allerdale and we’ve made the brief as simple as possible; it can’t be white, it can’t be silver and have fun!”

The winner will receive the shirt in their size, a season ticket and a rugby ball.

The runner-up will receive a season ticket and a rugby ball and the third finisher will get a season ticket.

The competition is open for anyone aged 16 or under, with the closing date for entries on December 5.

Entrants can email their completed template to graemepeerstownrlfc@gmail.com, message it to the club’s official Facebook or Twitter page, or drop a physical copy off at the club shop.
