Whitehaven AFC under-14s consolidated second position in the West Cumbria Youth League after a convincing win over the weekend.

Amateurs welcomes St Bees Juniors to the County Ground and scored nine goals without answer to take the points.

The other game to go ahead at under-14 level saw Workington Reds Whites beat Cockermouth Cougars 6-2.

Two mid-table battles went ahead in the under-16 league as Cleator Moor Celtic under-15s got the better of hosts Maryport Amateurs under-15s in a high scoring game, Celtic just taking the honours 7-4.

Whitehaven AFC were also on the winning side as they welcomed Cockermouth Panthers’ under-15 side and ran out 5-1 victors.

Rolling back to the under-12 league, two matches went ahead, beating the big freeze, with Whitehaven AFC Yellows heading to Bransty Rangers and hitting the home side for nine without any reply.

The other game saw Seaton Juniors United beat their own Athletic team 6-0.

Only one game went ahead in the under-12 red division and it was on Friday night as Workington Reds Whites welcomed Cleator Moor Celtic Greens and won 4-0.

The remainder of the games were called off due to the weather.
