Wath Brow Hornets Under-12s travelled to take on Kells on Sunday and, thanks to their dogged and determined defence, came away with a good 18-12 victory.

Two tries apiece from Harry Asquith and Jake Greenhough plus a Greenhough conversion, sealed the win for the Brow.

In reply for Kells, there were touchdowns from Keenan Bowes, Kia Massey and Arben Pervizaj.

Hensingham mastered Lowca when they met on Sunday, Hensingham comfortable winners, 42-4. Kier Starkie and Seb O’Reily picked up a brace of tries, with other touchdowns coming from Alfie Telford, Henley Donnan, Luke Clements who also landed four conversions and a try and conversion from Jaylan Conway.

Bobby Ennis scored the solitary try for Lowca.

Maryport played hosts to Broughton Red Rose but were on the losing end of a 30-16 scoreline. The Port try scorers were AJ Lambert, Jack Greenhow, Liam Penman and Jayden O’Pray. Broughton responded with a hat-trick and three conversions from Callum Fox, with Connor McDonald, Reece Chilton and Alfie Hankin also getting tries crossing the whitewash.

In the Under-14 League there were away wins for Wath Brow Hornets and Hensingham.

The Brow were away to Egremont Rangers and had a comfortable 44-18 win. Luke Spivey led the way with four tries, with others coming from Sam Newby, Devon Sharpe, Aaron Jackson, Josh Hewitt and Aiden Kelly. Josh Hewitt and Jenson Olstrom were on target with two conversions apiece.

Hensingham travelled to take on Seaton Rangers and came away with the spoils after inflicting a 28-14 defeat on the Rangers. Cobie Mellon, Tom McKinney, Miller Dalton, Logan Holgate and Logan Connor crossing the Seaton whitewash for Hensingham, McKinney added four goals.

In the Under-16 League, Kells narrowly lost out on home soil in the tie against Millom with the Woolybacks winning this one by 26-22.

It was a close game throughout, and at the break the home side were only behind by two points at 12-10, Mitchell Todd and Lewis Bragg crossing for Kells, Blaine Graham getting the goal.

For Millom, in the first period, Jamie McQuire crossed twice with Jack Newbegan converting both. Second half tries from Tyler Chambers and Blaine Graham plus a Graham conversion kept Kells in the game but three tries from Millom via Dylan Sweeney, Dan Hartley and Nick Pitts plus a Newbegan goal, sealed the win for Millom.

Egremont Rangers played out a 24-24 draw at Gillfoot Park against Maryport. Alex Marsden with two, Aaron Hart, Lennox Hunter and Jay Connor getting the four pointers for Egremont with two conversions coming from Luke Williams.

Maryport replied with four converted tries from Attlee Jack Skillen, Leon Ackerly, Ciaran Little and Josh Pattinson with Pattinson landing all four conversions.

Seaton Rangers made the journey down the coast to take on Dalton and came away with a good win after inflicted a won 30-8 winning margin over the home side. Ciaran Walker being the pick of the Seaton side after picked up a hat-trick of touchdowns plus landing three conversions. Aaron Lawson crossed for a brace and Jonathan Dodd also crossed the whitewash.

The home side replied with two tries, one apiece from Brad Fagan and Reece Smith.
