A lone goal from James Penman proved the deciding factor as Maryport Labour Club met Workington Reds Juniors in the Workington Sunday League.

The league clash was tightly fought, with just the one goal separating the two sides and handing the Maryport outfit the win.

It was a little clearer for Maryport United after they overcame Highfield 5-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Max Litt and further goals for Brandon Birks and Lazo Ranya. Keith Skillen scored Highfield’s consolation.

In the Premier League Divisional Cup Group A, Pack Horse were convincing 9-2 victors over Senhouse Street , whose two goals both came courtesy of Adam Kilgour.

There were braces all round for Pack Horse from Paul Lomas, Jordan Hawthorn and Ian Wilson, with Jamie Graham, Calvin Feeney and Brandon Renney also finding the back of the net.

Deer Orchard were also victorious 5-3 against Dearham, with two goals from Michael Graham and one apiece for Robert Cox, Conor Cooke and Lee Medding.

Steven Stoddart, Dylan Ellsworth and Johnathan Bridgewood all replied for Dearham.

In Group B Waverley could not raise a team against Northside but the latter went on to play a premier league game against Sun Inn and ran out 5-3 victors.

Gareth O’Leary, Callum Killick and Jamie Glover found the goals for Northside with Ben Jefferson, with two, and Dan Pearson replying for Sun Inn.

In Group A of the Division one Divisional Cup, Salterbeck travelled to Soul Suite and came away with a 5-2 win courtesy of goals from Nathan Brash, Ewan Robinson, Niall Melton and Dan Storey.
