Bransty Rangers consolidated their third place position in the West Cumbria Under-16 Youth League when they picked up a convincing win at home to Workington Reds Juniors U15s.

Rangers were in top form in the clash as they won 9-1 to keep the pressure on Workington Reds Blacks just above them in second.

But the Blacks also proved up to the challenge as they won 6-1 over Workington Wanderers U15 Whites and Whitehaven AFC U15s won a tight game against Whitehaven Miners Social U15s 1-0.

The other clashes at this age group saw Maryport Amateurs U15s win 4-1 over Cockermouth Panthers U15s while league leaders Maryport Athletic continued their fine form with a 9-1 win over Cleator Moor Celtic. A day earlier and Cleator Moor Celtic U15s won 3-1 at home to Windscale U15s.

In the Under-16 League Cup there was more joy for Workington Reds Blacks who beat Cockermouth Panthers U15s 4-0.

Back in the under-14 league second placed Whitehaven AFC recorded a 9-2 victory over Dearham Rangers while Cleator Moor Celtic inflicted a 7-0 defeat at the home of Windscale Juniors.

There were two games in the under-13 league where Cockermouth United edged out Maryport Amateurs 4-3 and Whitehaven Miners Social won 1-0 in a close game with Windscale. In the Under-13 League Cup Whitehaven Blues beat Seaton Athletic 3-2.

Whitehaven Blues tasted success in the Under-12 Cup Blue, beating Dearham Rangers 1-0 while in the Green Cup Whitehaven Miners Social picked up a 5-1 win at Workington Reds’ Reds.

The Under-12 Orange Cup saw Seaton United beat Silloth Mini Gulls 9-4 while St Bees beat Moor Row Blacks 6-1.
