Salterbeck gained sweet revenge for their Divisional Cup defeat last week at Maryport Labour Club when they beat them at the weekend to go to the top of the Workington Sunday League Division One.

A brace of goals from Carl McCoy helped Salterbeck to a 5-2 victory at home, with Nathan Brash, Martyn Rossi and Jack Rossi also finding the back of the net.

Ethan Weir and Aston Reynold also scored for Labour Club, whose goalkeeper Ellis Guardhouse also made some fine saves in what was a cracking match.

In the premier league Pack Horse saw off the challenge of Senhouse Street Club 2-1 in a tight game where both the winning side’s goals came from Gareth Brunton. Adam Hodgson replied for Senhouse.

On Tuesday night Northside were celebrating after a 6-1 convincing display over Sun Inn, for whom Dan Pearson was on target with their consolation.

Callum Killick led the scoring for Northside with two to his name, alongside one apiece for Gareth O’Leary, Josh Charlton, Tom Mahone and Lee Wolfe.

The other game played was in the Division One Divisional Cup semi-final and the honours went to Maryport Labour Club who travelled to Red House and came away with a 4-0 win.

Two goals from Ethan Weir, one from Reece Rogerson and an own goal saw Labour Club through.
