Northside have been crowned Workington Sunday League Cup champions after defeating a battling Deer Orchard in the final.

Played at Borough Park, two goals from Kyle Graham aided Northside to a 5-2 victory, alongside further strikes from Gareth O’Leary, Bradley Tatton and Stefan Scott.

Deer Orchard made their opponents fight all the way and Lewis Horsley and Luke Ivison both put the ball in the back of the net.

Also on Sunday, in the Divisional Cup, Sun Inn edged out Seaton Royal Oak 2-1 thanks to goals from Steve Rudd and Richard Hird, with Carl Denver replying for Royal Oak.

It was more clear cut in division one when Sun Inn Athletic travelled to Maryport Labour Club and came away with the points following a 6-2 victory.

Mark Beatty led the way for Athletic with a brace, with further goals from Cameron Jackson, Brad Stoddart, Jamie Hanley and Joe Graham. Ethan Costin and Ethan Weir replied for Labour Club.

Salterbeck secured their place in the final of the Divisional Cup, after beating Workington Reds Juniors 3-1 in the semis, Joe Hetherington scoring the lone goal for Reds.

Nathan Brash, Liam Currier and Carl McCoy put away the winning goals for Salterbeck. They meet Maryport Labour Club in the final on May 12 at Borough Park.

On Tuesday night Northside racked up a 21-1 scoreline in the Divisional Cup over Waverley, who deserve credit for battling throughout the game.

For Northside there were hat-tricks from Gareth O’Leary, John Price and Kurt Scott, plus braces for Steven Hampton, Scott Musgrave, Richard Pattinson and Bryan Todd. Bobby Mattison, Brad Tatton, Jamie Glover and Lee Wolfe wrapped up the scoring for Northside with Kieran Messenger replying for Waverley.

In the premier league, Deer Orchard took the points away from home, winning 2-1 at Sun Inn thanks to both Luke Graham and Rob Cox scoring, with Dan Pearson replying.

In division one Soul Suite hosted Maryport Labour Club but ended up on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline. Ethan Costin, Ethan Weir and Jack Parker were the goal scorers for Labour Club.

This Sunday sees the President’s Cup final at Grasslot Welfare between Deer Orchard and Northside
