Sean Penkywicz could reach a career milestone on Sunday - if he can cross the whitewash for Workington Town.

The experienced hooker needs just one try to reach 150 for his career and, if selected, could hit the total at the Leigh Sports Village on Sunday.

Workington Town head to Leigh Centurions in the last-16 clash in the 1895 Cup, with the winner taking another step on the road to Wembley.

Penkywicz has scored 16 times for Town since joining the club and also racked up 22 for opponents Leigh while playing there from 2013-15.

He had a further six for Toronto Wolfpack, 96 for Halifax and nine for Huddersfield Giants.

Town chairman Les Smallwood said the No9 has been a great asset to Derwent Park since joining.

“He just has so much experience and a real will to win,” said Smallwood. “And perhaps more importantly he has the know-how to win.

“He is sometimes unstoppable from acting half-back, 10-yards out from the line.

“Even though people know what he is going to do, they still can’t stop him.”

Along with Penkywicz, Town have several more faces that will be familiar to Leigh fans including Fuifui Moimoi, Danny Tickle and Sam Hopkins.
