Talented half-back Jamie Doran says Workington Town are focused on turning over Coventry on Sunday to avenge their earlier season defeat at the home of the Bears.

Doran, who has a good record against Coventry, scoring a try in their last four meetings, says Town will be going all out to get the win and carry on their upturn in form.

“Obviously the last time we played them they turned us over at their place at the start of the year,” explained Doran.

“So this game has extra focus for us to get it right as we owe them one.

“We have had a couple of good wins this month, minus the Leigh game but on Sunday, at West Wales, they weren’t just a pushover like they used to be, they gave us a good fight.

“It was a really good performance from us. Chris (Thorman) focused on our defence and we kept them down to two tries. If we can keep doing that then we will pick up wins as we are confident about our attack.”

Doran doesn’t believe the change of venue – with Town playing the game at Borough Park, ko 3pm – will affect the outcome.

“It is going to be a bit different as Derwent Park has been my home ground for the last five years,” added Doran.

“But we have been training at Borough Park for the last three weeks so there are no excuses, we should be able to adapt to the pitch and we should be okay.”
