Neal Maupay is “desperate” for more Albion action.

And boss Graham Potter is pleased with the attacking options he offers.

The £16 million striker scored as sub at Watford following his move from Brentford.

Whether that brings him into the starting XI to face West Ham remains to be seen.

Potter said: “He has adapted really well into the group.

“He is a really good lad, desperate to play football, desperate to play for us.

“He is desperate to play in the Premier League and to make that impact.

“He is young and hungry. He had two really good seasons previously in the Championship, scored goals.

“Now he wants to take that next step.

“He is a No.9 who can play in behind or he can link up the play well.

“He is just a guy who wants to fight for the team. I am hopeful and I am sure we will enjoy watching Neal play for us. He is a good player.”

Albion would love to follow the Vicarage Road performance with something special for their home fans.

Potter added: “We have had a full week training, no problems, and it will be much the same squad as we had for Watford.

“It has been a positive week for us. The players tried to do what we asked them to do. We had a bit of luck as well and you need that in a game to survive those moments you expect in an away match and a Premier League game.

“We were effective with our chances.

“We didn’t create too many but the ones we did we put away.

“It was a good solid performance, which is great for us.

“Like I said after the game we can improve as well.”
