Fell runners were out in force for Eskdale Show, which held senior and junior races.

A host of runners toed the line with representatives from all the local clubs including CFR and Black Combe.

At senior level, the men’s race was won by Tom Simpson from Josh Hartley and the women’s title went home with Natalie Beadle, ahead of Briony Halcrow.

The veterans prizes went to Rebecca Halcrow and Matt Brindle.

There were a host of junior fell races, starting with the under-11s where Hannah Fraser came out on top of the girls race and Luca Roberts for the boys, from Aiden Crickett.

Moving up to under-13 level, Olivia Swarbrick brought the girls home with Leyton Roberts hitting the tape first for the boys, in front of Jack Sanderson.

Fayth Bowness was the first girl back in the under-15 race, with Zhu Li McGurk in second. In the boys race, first place went to Tom Adams.

There was also a girls under-17 race where Emily Swarbrick was first home.

There was a junior cross-country race for anyone aged nine years and under, which saw Bethany Swarbrick and Matthew Lee triumph.
