Whitehaven AFC Juniors Yellow moved up into second place in the U12 West Cumbria Youth League Red Division after a strong showing at the weekend.

They beat league leaders Workington Reds Juniors Black 5-1 to come up on their heels, with two games in hand.

Cockermouth Juniors Real also won 5-1, defeating Salterbeck Yellows.

In the U12 Blue Division, Moor Row Reds beat their own Blacks side 9-1 while Cockermouth Dortmund 16 won 3-2 at Workington Reds’ Whites.

The Under-13 league saw success for Moor Row Reds, 4-0 at Workington Reds’ Whites. Seaton United were also on form, with a 6-1 victory at home to St Bees and Whitehaven AFC Blues won away at Workington Reds’ Reds 6-1.

There was one game in the Under-14 league as Seaton United and Whitehaven AFC Blues played out a 1-1 draw.

At half time in the Under-16 league game between Workington Reds Whites and their own Black team, it was all square at 0-0 but at the final whistle the White tea had recorded a 9-2 win.

Whitehaven AFC went on to beat Workington Reds’ Blacks 6-2.

The Under-18 league had just one game as Moor Row U17s beat Workington Reds’ Blacks U17s 4-1.

In the Under-12 Girls Blue Division there were 9-0 wins for Whitehaven AFC Yellows over Senhouse Juniors and also for Whitehaven AFC Whites over Allerdale Tigers.

Workington Reds Diamonds’ Reds won 9-1 at Cockermouth Girls Indigo.

The Red Division saw Workington Reds Diamonds’ Whites win 6-3 over Moor Row Reds, Cockermouth Golds won 9-1 at Whitehaven AFC Blues and Maryport Amateurs recorded a 3-1 win over Allerdale Pumas.

In the Under-14 Girls League, Whitehaven AFC won 3-0 away at Moor Row, while Cockermouth beat Maryport Amateurs 9-0 and Whitehaven AFC got the better of Workington Reds Diamonds in a tight game that finished 3-2.
