WORKINGTON completed a quick double over Tadcaster to earn an FA Trophy trip to Leek Town on Saturday.
Sam Smith headed the only goal on 67 minutes but stand-in keeper Aaron Burn had produced a string of excellent tops to deny the Cumbrians in the second half.
There was an early problem for Reds when keeper Jim Atkinson dashed from goal to clear a through ball and was caught by an opponent. Play was held up for several minutes while he received treatment but eventually was able to continue.
When Atkinson picked up a back pass, Taddy were awarded an indirect free-kick on the six-yard box and Jake Day saw his strike come back off the post.
Reds went close when Waterston had a shot blocked and Hubbold’s follow up shot was blocked by the feet of the home replacement keeper Arran Burn.
Burn made another great save, full-length to deny Symington and then good work from Brockbank saw him drive into the box but there was nobody on the end of it.
The breakthrough came in the 67th minute. A deep corner from Conor Tinnion beat everyone except Sam Smith diving in at the far post.
Smith was denied by Burn, and Scott Allison hit the post as Reds were dominating the game.
