Workington Town will host National Conference League Division One side West Bowling in the Challenge Cup’s third round.

Town’s was the first ball to come out of the hat in tonight’s draw, which was hosted by Rochdale Hornets.

The tie will be played on the weekend of February 8/9.

All League 1 sides entered the draw, with Town’s Cumbrian neighbours and division rivals Barrow Raiders selected to play London Skolars.

They are the only two Cumbrian teams in the cup at this stage, with Championship club Whitehaven set to enter in the next round. Super League clubs enter in rounds five and six.

Distington, who reached the second round, exited at the weekend with defeat at Underbank Rangers.

BBC Sport and the RFL will continue to stream games up to and including the fifth round, with the BBC televising two ties from the sixth round and the quarter-finals.

Both semi-finals will then be played, along with the Women’s Challenge Cup Final, in a triple-header at the University of Bolton Stadium on Saturday, June 6.

The Men’s Challenge Cup Final will be played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, July 18.
