Blockbusting forward Fuifui Moimoi is back at Workington Town and raring to go.

The former Tonga and New Zealand international is ready to prop up the pack as Town head for another tilt at the League 1 title this season.

And he says a key factor in signing a new deal with Chris Thorman's side are the fantastic fans at Derwent Park.

"The reason I have resigned, is because I have really enjoyed my last two years with the club," said Moimoi.

"I’ve met lots of great people within the club and the fans are awesome.

"Obviously with Chris getting involved, I really enjoyed my time with him last year and what’s he’s done for the club.

"We have got some young talented players that I enjoy playing with and from what I’ve seen the other new signings are going to be just as talented.

"I can’t wait for this season to start. Hopefully Chris, his staff and the club's hard work pays off this season and we achieve what we have all set out to do for the club."

Head coach Thorman is delighted to welcome Moimoi back, with his experience and impact important to the club.

He said: "I thought Fui had a new lease of life during the back end of last season, proving you can teach old dogs new tricks!

"In all seriousness though, Fui epitomises what I want in a middle forward – hard working, selfless and he has real impact when he carries the ball.

"I feel like all of our forward pack compliment each other, with them all having slightly different attributes. That allows us to have different attacking options at times and Fui plays a big part in that.

"Above all else Fui is a great bloke, very popular with his peers and is very easy to coach. It’s great to have him back."
