Ossett United will return to Borough Park tonight – just three days after their 2-0 league defeat to Workington.

This time the two sides will lock horns in round three of the Integro League Cup. Reds’ boss Danny Grainger said he would make some changes to the starting line-up, but insisted his side would be aiming for victory.

“There will be a couple of our young lads involved,” he said. “But the plan is to go and win it. The league is our bread and butter, but we go into every competition wanting to win it.”

The funeral of Workington legend Jimmy Moran will take place at John the Baptist Church in Norwich, on Wednesday, February 19.

A minute’s silence took place ahead of Saturday’s league match against Ossett at Borough Park in memory of Moran, and also of former club director Dave Wilson, following their recent deaths.

Moran, who was 84, was born in the village of Cleland, near Motherwell in Scotland. He played for Leicester City before moving to Norwich in 1957, scoring 18 goals in 40 games for the Canaries. He went onto play for Northampton Town, Darlington, Workington, Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.
