A RUGBY union club is set to toast the success of their Crowdfunder with a touch rugby session followed by socially distanced drinks and a barbecue.
Aspatria RUFC are hosting an event this coming Saturday at their Bower Park ground following the success of their midweek touch rugby sessions and a fundraiser that secured their future during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Black Reds launched a Crowdfunder in February to make much needed improvements to their ground's facilities at a time where games were on hold and there was very little money coming in.
The community stepped up and raised £20,065 to the club's cause.
With Coronavirus restrictions being rolled-back, the club can train and finally celebrate their success.
On Saturday 24, the club will host a touch rugby session from 1pm with the club bar and barbecue opening from 2pm.
A spokesperson for the club said: “This is our first opportunity to come together and have a catch up, everyone is invited and welcome.”
Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs as club seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Follow the Aspatria RUFC Twitter and Facebook pages to keep up to date as more details are set to be revealed.
