UK and British Blues Award winners Catfish have a headline show in Cumbria later this year.

The highly-accomplished young band, who starred at last year's Carlisle Blues Rock Festival, will be appearing at the Kirkgate Centre, in Cockermouth, this October.

Catfish have been selected as one of only five bands in the country to represent the country in the UK Blues Challenge in September, and the winner will go on to take part in the International Blues Challenge in the USA. It means they could be named the best blues band in the world by the time they arrive in Cockermouth.

They have carved a reputation for themselves as an excellent live band with a phenomenal frontman in 23-year-old guitarist and vocalist Matt Long, who plays with a real passion for the blues.

Over two years, they received five nominations in the British Blues Awards, including a victory in the best band category.

Both of their albums have reached number one in the IBBA Blues Airplay Charts, and this year they have already completed successful tours of Holland and Spain, and have a further three European tours already booked for 2018, along with an impressive set of UK dates.

Their album Broken Man was voted album of the year for 2017 by the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association, and material from the record as well as newer, unreleased numbers will feature in the live set.

The show on Sunday October 21 starts at 4.30pm, and tickets are available from the Kirkgate Centre box office.
