HOW THEY MET: On a night out in Fusion nightclub in Workington on Boxing Day, 2002.

PROPOSAL: On holiday in Zante in 2005. Stephen pretended he wanted to buy Cara a ring for her birthday but when they got back to their hotel room he asked Cara to be his wife.

VENUE: Roundthorn Country House Hotel, Penrith.

THEME: Royal and purple.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An ivory Sophia Tolli ‘Heidi’ halterneck dress embroidered with pearls and diamantes from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.

GROOMSMEN: Gary Nicholson was best man and ushers were the groom’s brother Andrew Andrew Asquith-Vallance and Andrew Armitage. They wore black Edwardian suits with dark purple rouche and purple and cream waistcoats from Burton.

BRIDESMAIDS: Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters Lucy Pike and Megan Coyles and the groom’s sister Helen Asquith. They wore short purple dresses with cream sashes and flower detail to the shoulder, made by Nan Wilson, Rowrah.

FLOWERS: Cream and purple silk roses with diamantes made by the bride.

TRANSPORT: A Kenworth truck from Geoff Brown, Carlisle.

RECEPTION: Roundthorn Country House Hotel for a wedding breakfast for 63 guests and a further 40 guests for an evening reception and buffet.

England’s first World Cup game took place on the wedding day and the venue installed a television to show the match. The bride and groom bought England flags, wigs and inflatables for guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Glass bowls with floating roses, purple scattered crystals, poems and place cards, made by the bride.

FAVOURS: Cupcakes for the women and little Bakewells with footballs on for the men, made by the bride.

CAKE: A four-tier cake of fruit, sponge and chocolate made by family friend Judy Boaz.

FIRST DANCE: Make You Feel My Love, Adele.

ENTERTAINMENT: Touch of Class Roadshow, Penrith.

HONEYMOON: Kenya.
