HOW THEY MET: At Park nightclub in Whitehaven in September 1997.

PROPOSAL: On Christmas Day 1997.

VENUE: St Mary’s Church, Cleator.

THEME: Black, red and Las Vegas.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A couture gown with sweetheart neckline and full tulle skirt, from Olivia James Bridal, Egremont.

GROOMSMEN: David Fisher was best man. Ushers were the bride’s cousin Brian Skelton and the bride’s stepbrother Andrew Douglas.

The bride and groom’s son Morgan Sessford was page boy.

They wore suits from Dresses and Dreams, Workington.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s sister Joanne Penn was chief bridesmaid and the groom’s sister Isabella Kirkbride and the groom’s daughter Chloe Pickering were bridesmaid and wore black satin prom dresses from Debenhams. The bride’s nieces Caitlyn Marie Penn and Ellie May Penn were also bridesmaids and wore red dresses bought on the internet.

FLOWERS: The bride carried a black bouquet of organza and feathers with red beads attached and a silk handle with diamantes from Patellie Hats, Kells.

TRANSPORT: A white limousine.

RECEPTION: Falcon Club, Egremont for a three course meal for 64 guests and an evening reception for 150 guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Chocolate tuxedos and playing cards and fish bowls with red coloured lights on the tables and the venue was decorated with playing card balloons, red and black balloons and red and black feathers, following the Las Vegas theme.

FAVOURS: A goodie bag for each child.

CAKE: A three-tier sponge, chocolate and fruit cake by Susan Archer, Cleator Moor.

FIRST DANCE: From the Heart, Another Level.

ENTERTAINMENT: Elvis impersonator Maverick from Whitehaven sang and provided a disco.

HONEYMOON: Blackpool.
