HOW THEY MET: In 2003 when Claire was general manager of the Litton Tree in Carlisle and Grant was the head door superviser and then got together in 2006.

PROPOSAL: While having a meal in Keez’s restaurant on Claire’s birthday in May 2008.

VENUE: Hotel Playa Desquero, Cuba.

THEME: Caribbean beach wedding.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: A diamond white Maggie Sottero gown with crystal detail from Country Dreams Bridal, Carlisle.

GROOMSMEN: David Cowing was best man and Stephen McMahon gave the bride away.

They wore linen trousers and champagne waistcoats from Greenwoods.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s best friends Kiyla Butler and Claire Nicholson were bridesmaids and wore knee length champagne dresses made by a friend.

FLOWERS: Tropical Caribbean flowers.

TRANSPORT: Horse and carriage from local Cuban supplier.

RECEPTION: On the bride and groom’s return they held a reception with a traditional buffet at Carlisle Racecourse for close family and friends.

TABLE SETTINGS: Candles and balloons.

FAVOURS: Photo albums for the women and lottery cards for the men.

CAKE: A two-tier white cake with white champagne coloured trim and a tropical flower topping from Margie’s Sugarcraft, Carlisle.

FIRST DANCE: Lets Stay Together, Al Green.

ENTERTAINMENT: Mr Pops DJ, Carlisle.

HONEYMOON: Cuba.
