HOW THEY MET: On a night out with friends in Whitehaven on July 15 2000.

PROPOSAL: Alan proposed while on holiday in Majorca on August 14 2005.

VENUE: St Mary and St Michael’s Church, Egremont.

THEME: Red and ivory roses.

BRIDE’S OUTFIT: An off the shoulder ivory and deep red dress with diamantes scattered all over the dress and red roses scattered all over the long train from Dresses and Dreams, Workington.

A handmade diamante tiara from Hair@Jibe, Carlisle.

GROOMSMEN: The groom’s friend Arlo Gilliland was best man and ushers were the groom’s friend Grant Nixon and the groom’s brothers Gavin Donaldson, Andrew Donaldson and Matthew Donaldson.

They wore black tailcoats, ivory waistcoats, grey pinstripe trousers and deep red handkerchiefs and ties from Greenwoods.

BRIDESMAIDS: The bride’s daughters Natalie, Emma and Katie Chambers were bridesmaids and wore deep red dresses with spaghetti straps.

FLOWERS: The bride carried a bouquet of red roses from Jenkinson’s Flower Shop, Egremont.

TRANSPORT: A Beauford Tourer and Daimler Landaulette Blue from A Touch of Class, Workington.

RECEPTION: A reception at the Falcon Club, Egremont for 110 guests.

TABLE SETTINGS: Balloons and ribbons in deep red and ivory.

FAVOURS: Red chocolate hearts

CATERING: De Margo’s restaurant at the Falcon Club, Egremont.

CAKE: A three-tier cake with red roses and diamantes scattered around the top tier, supplied by a work colleague of the bride.

FIRST DANCE: Sometimes When We Touch, Dan Hill.

ENTERTAINMENT: Disco supplied by the Falcon Club, Egremont.

HONEYMOON: Windermere Suites, Windermere.
