John was much loved and he will always be remembered with fondness , not just for all the kindness and caring he showed towards me and other people , especially my father after my mother died when he called to see him every day and got help if it was needed ,but for simply being the man he was, full of compassion , caring , humour , and integrity . He was always strong in his faith and an example to all who have faith and also those who might have no faith at all ,of what it means to be a Christian and live a Christian life .
John is sadly missed and will never be forgotten .

The news that our dear friend John passed away came as a great shock to both of us. Although we spent many happy days together, as next door neighbours and military colleagues in Germany, finding the right words in tribute is the hardest thing we have done for some time. We have struggled in our thoughts and cherished memories to try and articulate what an amazing and special man John was.

Suffice it to say that we both feel fortunate that John, and the lovely Simone, were a small part of our lives. John was a reliable confidant and mentor, loyal to his colleagues, proud of his children and grandchildren, steadfast in his faith, loved, admired and respected by all for his brilliant incisive mind and quiet gentle manner and calmness. His memory will remain with us both.

Rest in peace John, in the arms of the living Lord.

Joe and Josephine.
