A West Cumbrian car park will be closed next week while new equipment is put in.
Workington's multi-storey car park will close at 6pm on Sunday and reopen at 7am on Saturday, July 29 to allow new ticketing and security equipment to be installed.
Allerdale council is taking over the operation of the car park, which is part of the Washington Square Shopping Centre.
A council spokesman said the work could not be safely carried out while the building was open to the public.
He added: "The council apologises for any inconvenience caused.
"Shoppers and visitors can use the other car parks in the town, which will remain open as usual, and the council is allowing holders of Parksafe’s permits to use Central car park while the works are undertaken."
The car park is currently run by private company Parksafe, which is contracted by the council.
It was announced last month that the company and council had agreed to terminate that agreement by mutual consent.
The car park is part of the Washington Square Shopping Centre and is leased by the council.
