A pedestrian was struck by a bus as the vehicle tried to go around a mini roundabout.
The collision happened about 10am yesterday and police have launched an investigation.
The bus was negotiating the roundabout in Ewanrigg Road, Maryport.
As a result of the incident the pedestrian suffered minor injuries.
Police say it is possible the bus driver was not aware of the collision.
"Any person who witnessed the collision, or any bus in the area at the time is asked to make contact with PC 2276 Winter via 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111, quoting log 76 of May 24," a police spokeswoman said.
