The guests will attend tomorrow’s event in Vulcan Park, from 11am to 5.30pm, which will feature music and entertainment.
They will also attend the town council’s mayor-making ceremony in the Carnegie Theatre tonight. Many people and organisations from Workington and surrounding areas have been able to visit Val De Reuil over the last 20 years.
Barbara Cannon, chairman of Workington and District Twinning Association, said: “We’re delighted to be celebrating this very special occasion alongside our friends from France and Germany.
“Last weekend, we marked the 20th anniversary of signing the charter which brought our two towns together and although the UK will be ending its relationship with the European Union, its mutual friendship with Val de Reuil and Selm will continue.”
