Four Cockermouth School children have won a place in the national final of the Kids Lit Quiz.
Year 8 pupils Isabella Bridgman, Eloise Cole and Uther Teasdale and Year 7 student Isabella Jarvis won the North West heat in Lancashire on Wednesday.
They will travel to London's Barbican on Wednesday for the final, with school librarian Helen Farrar.
This is the eighth consecutive year that the school has won a place in the UK final. In 2010 and 2012 they won the UK final and travelled to New Zealand (2010) and South Africa (2012) for the international final.
Mrs Farrar said: "They did so well. There are no themes or reading lists so you just have to do lots of reading.
"We're all looking forward to going to London and will have fingers, toes, everything crossed."
The international final will take place in June, in Canada.
