Workington Town Council has appointed a new assistant town clerk.
Amelia Donnelly, 28, of Ashby Street, Netherton, Maryport, has been appointed to help town clerk Chris Bagshaw.
Amelia started in the full-time role, which is based at the town hall, earlier this week.
Her duties will include minute-taking, grants and events.
She moved to West Cumbria from Kent nine years ago and used to work in the parking department at Allerdale council.
She said: "I'm very pleased. I'm looking forward to working with the community and with Workington.
"It's always been a passion of mine to help others."
