Talia Todd has earned her place in the history of Allonby.
The three-year-old is not only the first child in the village school's new nursery but is also the only one.
David Owen, headteacher, said the nursery was opened this year to offer children continuity in their education and also to ensure that parents had an option for nursery education in the village.
He said: "Talia is mixing with reception children and is fitting in well. We expect to have more children later."
