Dearham Primary School has won a national award for student leadership.
The prize was a result of the school's participation in the Rock Challenge awards.
Sam Kidd, headteacher, said: "We are really proud. We are the only school in Cumbria, as far as I know, to win one of the national Rock Challenge awards."
The award was judged after the completion of all Rock Challenge presentations throughout the country.
Emma Ivison, who organised the Dearham challenge, said the year five children, now in year six, deserved the award.
She added: "They were completely in control of their performance from coming up with initial ideas, to choreographing their routine, designing and making scenery, choosing songs for the sound track and choosing their student representative. We are very proud of them."
