A Cockermouth woman sustained a serious eye injury while out fell walking and had to be flown to hospital for surgery.
The 54-year-old woman was out walking in the Loweswater Fells with her dog and a friend when something got stuck in her eye.
Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team came to help the woman on the path below Carling Knott on Saturday at 1pm and stretchered her to the Great North Air Ambulance Service helicopter.
She was then flown to Royal Preston Hospital in 15 minutes for surgery and arrived in a stable condition.
