Five people have been charged with animal cruelty after a cat was attacked by two Lurcher-type dogs in Workington in June.
Police launched a joint investigation with the RSPCA.
They released a statement this morning to confirm that Jamie Atkinson, 19, of Minster Close, Workington; Daniel Porter, 18, of Eskdale Crescent, Workington and a 16-year-old and two 15-year-old boys have been charged with animal cruelty.
They have been bailed to appear at West Cumbria Magistrates Court on September 14.
