The Parish of Allhallows Mealsgate commemorated the Armistice centenary with a series of events.
All Saints' Church was decorated with poppies and a window of purple poppies to remember the sacrifice of animals during the conflict.
The Allhallows Community Centre held a lunch which featured a 'Lest we Forget' cake made by Mealsgate resident Gillian Marr.
"An exhibition of photographs of all the graves and cemeteries of the men of the Parish who are commemorated on the war memorial gave a unique and poignant focus to a solemn occasion," said a spokesman.
