Workington DJ Jonny Donat did a collaboration with a difference when he worked with Bradley Hadfield and Paul Lomas to raise £650 for a children's charity.

The three Workington men all worked to raise the funds at a charity night at the Electric Soup club to raise money for the Dechitsa Foundation in Bulgaria.

'BROMAS' - was hosted and promoted by Bradley and Lomas. Jonny designed and booked the artists and is the link with the Bulgarian charity.

Jonny said: "It was the first of a new branded night that Electric Soup will be doing every so often to give back."

The Dechitsa Foundation cares for around 40 children aged between three to 18 that are disadvantaged, orphaned and abused. They do a range of activities from dancing to maths lessons, sports and speech therapy and also enjoy having fun at social events such as picnics, the zoo, puppet theatre and celebrate birthdays and national holidays.

Another charity event is planned for December when a 'Soup 4 Soup' night will take place at Electric Soup in Workington on December 23.

Door entry for the event will be tinned food or soup or a donation to enable soup to be bought. All the donations will go to centres or organisations that can help get the food into the local community."Rory Wood came up with the idea for Soup 4 Soup. He'll be designing the full night I'll just be hosting and promoting it," added Jonny.
