Environmental campaigners will be in Cockermouth tomorrow as they seek to recruit members to a newly-formed group.
Extinction Rebellion Cumbria group (XR) has been set up to campaign on environmental issues.
Members will hand out leaflets outside Sainsbury's from 10.30am tomorrow, November 17, and be available to discuss issues such as climate change and ecological concerns.
The group would like the Government to say more about the climate and ecological issues, to communicate more with people, take measures to reduce carbon emissions to net zero by 2025 and to reduce consumption levels.
They are concerned at news of climate catastrophe and feel that not enough is being done to plan for rising sea levels.
Campaigners will also be meeting in London to express their concern about these ecological issues.
