The 31st Cumbria and North Lancs Dance Festival took place this week at the Theatre Royal, Workington.
Entrants from dance schools in Maryport, Workington, Cockermouth and Lancaster competed in different dance disciplines across various age groups, from pre-baby at under five to open at 17 and above.
Organiser Marie Money said it had been a really good, friendly competition, which had been well supported and it was good to see some first time performers. She added: βIt is not only good for the festival, but also good for the local economy, as one of the Lancaster dance schools is staying in a Premier Inn at Whitehaven.β
Marie said the dancers did well across the board.
Alexander Ip, from Maryport, who competed in the under six age group did particularly well, coming first in tap and character; second in the national; and third in ballet.
