A MARYPORT man who was caught drink-driving has been banned for a year.
Jamie Beattie, 33, of Ullswater Road, pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared at the magistrates court in Workington on Friday.
Beattie was found with 45mcg of alcohol in 100ml in breath - the legal limit being 35.
The court heard he was driving on Shipping Brow towards Irish Street when he was caught on February 23.
Beattie was also fined £500 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £50 victim surcharge.
If he successfully completes a drink-driving rehabilitation course his ban will be reduced by 13 weeks.
