Police probe
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to a serious assault in Workington.
The incident happened on Corporation Road in the town, on Wednesday this week, at about 1pm.
A police spokesman said: "An unknown offender has approached the victim and hit him several times with a metal bar over the body and head."
Anyone who saw the incident, or who has any information, is asked to contact the police on 101.
