The sun obviously shone on the righteous on Saturday when Friday night's downpour dried up in time for the Aspatria Gala Day.
"We were worried that the weather would affect us but it turned out dry and the conditions were perfect for those taking part in the procession, according to Dee Turner, one of the organisers.
The carnival took nearly from a street collection, showing the large number of people who turned up.
"There also seemed to be more floats than usual," she said.
"It was a fantastic day. Everyone did well including the ice cream and chip van and the fair."
And, of course, it could not have been a gala in 2019 without a group featuring the song that is delighting children and driving parents crazy - the Baby Shark Song.
