A COCKERMOUTH group has raised £640 for the Alzheimers Society.
Skiddaw Lodge presented the cheque at its Masonic Lodge in Cockermouth.
The society was chosen by Master of the Lodge Bob Reeves as his charity for his year in office because his wife, Sam, is living with the condition.
A spokesman said: "After she was diagnosed, Bob looked for guidance and information and found the local branch of the society based in Workington. They were very helpful to both him and Sam, as well as many others.
"The work they do is invaluable to those living with the condition and those caring for them.
"Philippa and others in the team are to be lauded for their work, showing knowledge, understanding, support and care."
Mrs Reeves presented the cheque to the area coordinator of the society, Philippa O'Callaghan.
Mrs O'Callaghan thanked members for their generosity.
