Green MEP Gina Dowding will be in Cockermouth on Saturday to visit the Taste Cumbria event.

Jill Perry, local Green Party co-ordinator and prospective parliamentary candidate for Workington will introduce her to stallholders.

Jill said: "This is the culmination of Climate Action week, and healthy diets and local food is a big issue in the climate emergency. We are proud to have Gina with us."

She will be in Cockermouth from 11.30am and at 12.30pm she will be in the Egremont Room of the Kirkgate Centre to give a speech.

Also taking place in the Kirkgate Centre is a craft fair and drop-in workshops to raise money for the Green Party and to support other local groups working on the climate emergency.

Make it Matter is only recently formed and this is their first public event.
