RUNNERS have praised the Great Cumbrian Run’s route and the “great” support along the way.
The event which started and finished at The Sheepmount Stadium, Carlisle saw many people clock a personal best.
About 1,300 people signed up for the race.
First-placed male Marc Brown, 27, of Whitehaven beat his time from last year by 30 seconds, this is the fourth time he has won the race.
He said: “It’s a personal best for the course and I’m pleased with it.
“I’m really pleased to have won it for four years and I’m the first person to have won it this many times consecutively.”
Marc completed the course in one hour, seven minutes and 52 seconds.
Richard Anderson was second over the line and Steve Littler third.
After the main run, a family fun run took place at two.
Children and parents took part in the one-and-a-half-mile course around Bitts Park before returning to The Sheepmount.
