RESCUE teams had to rush to the aid of a mountain biker after he crashed while descending Skiddaw.

A 31-year-old male crashed while coming down from the summit of Skiddaw towards Carl Side.

As well as hitting his head, the biker lost consciousness and appeared to have broken his collar bone.

Keswick Mountain Rescue teams were call at about 1.14pm yesterday and sent a Land Rover which made its way up the col behind Dodd.
