SOME bored search dogs have had lots of fun online, to share their plight with the nation.

Locked down members of the Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs Association took matters into there own paws after a break in training for Covid-19.

They compiled an entertaining video, Revolting Dogs, to share on their Facebook page and keep people smiling during difficult times.

The dogs had a little help from professional photographer Rob Grange, who has two search dogs and is a member of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team.

Rob, who is chairman of the Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs Association, has a graded search dog, Rona, and another one in training, Broch. They are both border collies.

Regular training sessions for all the search dogs have been put on hold.

"We just wanted to make people laugh again and lighten the mood at these difficult times," said Rob.

While the teams are grateful that people are adhering to government advice and staying off the fells, they are concerned about the hit that their fundraising is being hit.

Richard Warren is chairman of Lake District Search and Mountain Association.

"Our fundraising opportunities have been drastically cut down as we cannot have open days or street collections," he said.

"In order to maintain an income it's important we maintain a presence in the community."
