A Workington man has been handed two restraining orders as well as being banned for drug driving.

Shaun Murray, 39, of Grasmere Avenue, appeared at the magistrates' court in Workington on Friday to answer the charges.

He admitted using threatening or abusive words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress.

Murray was handed restraining orders preventing him from contacting a man and a woman either directly or indirectly by any means.

The order is valid until May 6, 2021.

He was also given a £120 fine.

It follows an incident which happened in Workington on June 6.

During the same court appearance, Murray also pleaded guilty to driving with 100ugl of cocain in his blood, as well as 97ugl of MDMA in his system on Falcon Road, Workington, on February 15.

The legal limit for both drugs is 10ugl.

He was banned for 36 months and he was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work.

Murray must pay £85 court costs and £90 victim surcharge.
