Sports clubs can apply for a new grant from the borough council to help them recovery from the coronavirus.

Not-for-profit organisations, charities, social enterprises and schools are invited to apply for the Allerdale Sports Development Grant

Amounts from £2,000 to £10,000 will be available with funding being provided to organisations that can demonstrate their project will make a significant difference to their members and users from the local community.

Councillor Tony Markley, Executive member for environmental services, said: “All aspects of the community have been hit hard by the pandemic.

"Having physical activities that are accessible and available are vital in giving people the opportunity to lead healthy lifestyles which is why we were keen to see some specific support offered to the fantastic clubs in the borough."

Applications form are live on the Allerdale Borough Council’s website: www.allerdale.gov.uk/en/sport-leisure-arts-culture/sport-allerdale/sports-development/allerdale-sports-development-grant/
